10 Reasons Why Gen Y Totally Rocks

We often see the elderly scoffing down at young ones, always picking out some problem with their generation or the other. ‘They are too loud’, ‘they party too much’, ‘they aren’t serious about anything’, and what not! Well, I think they need to look harder at their surroundings. Because these young guns, they certainly party hard, but work harder! As cliché as it may sound, the gen Y knows how to live their life to the fullest, and be totally responsible at the same time. And I, belonging to the same generation, have a few points to fight my case!

1.We are independent. In fact most of us are independent since college.

Taking money from our parents for parties or shopping is a strict no-no! We earn our own dough.

2. We ARE socially responsible.

Yes, there are a few who won’t bother, but most of us care about our surroundings. We wouldn’t step back if someone needs our help.
3. We don’t know how to regret.

Yes, we make mistakes and we learn from it. We don’t sit back and cry over what’s happened. We gather the broken pieces and move on.
4. We ARE family oriented people.

Okay, so we might be out of the house most of the times, working our asses off, or partying our pants off! But when mom needs to buy groceries, dude, she means it!

And we’re always the designated drivers.
5. We are super intelligent.

Some of us are! Cases of teenagers getting masters degrees, or inventing the next big app, are only increasing.
6. We are serious techies!

We know how to use technology to get our work done within minutes. In fact, within seconds!
7. We do believe in education.

Have you seen the never ending queues of kids outside colleges during admission time? Everyone wants a piece of quality education.
8. We know how to balance work-life.

Work is super important, but we also know that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! We make time for relaxing too.
9. We know how to respect.

Everyone teaches us to respect our elders. But respecting our counterparts or even our house maid is what’s inherent to us.
10. We know the importance of saving.

So, we lead a certain lifestyle. But we also know that eventually we have to save for future. Oh yeah, we’re pretty good at making investments too.
And that’s how Gen Y Rolls!
